Our Covid-19 Visiting Situation - A Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Unbelievably now, we have been operating under some form of Covid guidance for 12 months. The in-person property visits were one of the things we were advised by the Government not to do, unless we became aware of urgent circumstances at the address. This guidance was given with the aim of keeping everyone as safe as possible, there was and is no way of knowing for certain whether any of our staff are carrying the virus, or indeed whether any of the tenants we came into contact with are harbouring it.

However well covered up we are, and however carefully we clean and sanitise our hands, we would hate to be walking in and out of anyone’s home dropping little particles of virus along the way. I’m sure, by now, there is no one who doubts the severity of this disease and how we have no way of knowing who will or won’t be badly affected by it.

For the last year we have been relying on tenants to report problems which required our attention, and whilst not ideal and not what we would normally do, in the vast majority of homes it has worked very well. We have also been asking our contractors to keep an eye on things in any properties they have been to visit with maintenance issues and again, this has proved successful.

With the vaccine roll out and falling infection rates we are starting to prepare for a slow return to normal.
Due to lockdown, furlough and home schooling, one of the most important obligations we have to both landlords and tenants, our routine and regular property visits, have had to be scaled back.

With the light at the end of this tunnel glowing ever brighter, this is the first thing we will be looking to get back on track.

Please contact us if there is anything that you need us to look at for you as a matter of urgency and we will make sure we get to you as a priority, as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
